Why might music fans buy music magazines?
There are many reasons for why people would buy music magazines, some of them are:
-Interviews
-Posters
-Freebies
-Plugs/competitions
-Plugs/competitions
-Updates and news
-Music reviews (album, song, concert etc.)
-Upcoming music events
Many people buy music magazines and there are many that don't buy them. There are quite a few factors of this and the main reason is because social media is taking over. A lot more people are using the internet to explore things on social networking sites such as Facebook. This means they are less likely to buy music magazines because the information is available on the internet as most magazine companies now have a website where they have news and updates.
Many people may choose the social media over magazines because there are many benefits such as more updates, videos which you are not able to see in a magazine and live chat talks/streaming. Also if you have access to the internet then it would probably be cheaper for you to find things out from Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking sites, rather than buying a magazine quite frequently -which may range from something like £2 to £10 or more. Additionally, once you have read the whole magazine then you've found out the most you can but on the internet there are constant updates and you can never really know about everything that is happening.
Even though nowadays many people are using social media like Facebook and Twitter for updates on their favourite artists, there are still quite a few who prefer to find things out by reading magazines. This may be because magazines can be collectibles and also something you could refer to if you don't have access to the internet e.g. if you are travelling. Usually there are also posters and other freebies included, in addition to exclusive interviews which may attract music fans to buy the magazine. Moreover, sometimes there may be too many updates through the social media which may cause you to miss something and sometimes magazines can generally highlight the key things which happened/are happening. This will keep you updated on the latest news.

Michael Bublé - Crazy
Love: ‘Haven't Met You Yet’
‘Haven't Met You Yet’ from Michael
BublĂ©’s fourth album Crazy Love is a
successful song of his, which reached #1 in the US and won Single of the Year
at the 2010 Juno Awards.
The song starts off with a short introduction of
music which is of a nice melody played by the guitar, piano and drums. This
could make you remember the tune better as you can focus on just the music you
are hearing, without the lyrics to distract you. Furthermore there is a
repetitive beat to it which makes you absorbed into the song and want to listen
to more of it.
The lyrics are expressing that even though he has been in many relationships before which didn’t work out, but he still has the hope for finding the right girl for him. We can sense great emotions of perseverance through this song which makes many people to feel the same way too.
This song makes me feel comfortable and happy when listening to it due to the consistent beat being very easy to listen to. I also find that the lyrics are very well written as I believe it sends out a positive message to people which could give them courage and hope. The tune is also very catchy and makes you want to sing along to it. In addition the dynamic of the song also builds up towards the middle and end; it becomes louder and livelier with more instruments playing in the background. As a result, we can feel further engaged into the song as it becomes more energetic which causes us to want to sing and dance along to it.

Taylor Swift - Speak Now :‘Mine’
Taylor Swift’s lead single 'Mine' in Speak Now talks in the perspective of a girl falling in love with a boy who proved her wrong about relationships; as her parents’ bad relationship influenced her thoughts of love being not worth it. This song highlights a sense of maturity due to the way she interprets love which is a change in Taylor Swift’s songs; therefore it is loved by many people. With the first song revealing change, the listeners will therefore be looking forward to the rest of the album. I really enjoy listening to this song because the melody is catchy and most of all the lyrics are quite interesting with the story it tells. It demonstrates strong feelings of love when the boy had illustrated change as he expressed to her “I’ll never leave you alone” after they had argued. I felt touched by this as he proved to her that they were different from her parents who were a bad example to her with their mistakes in their relationship. Furthermore the song starts off slow which reflects on the negative interpretations of love made by the girl. However the beat starts to become faster as it gets to the chorus representing the happiness when she was with the boy. When the boy said that he will stay with her the music then slows down and becomes quieter eventually to nothing. This highlights very well how the girl had felt quite shocked and surprised at how the boy had reacted to the argument. Then towards the end, the beat of the song increases again display a happiness.
As a whole I think that this song is very interesting in the way it presents how people can sometimes feel love to be quite negative, due to the influence of a bad example from their parents. The meaning and catchy beat makes it a song to love no matter how old it is.

Album review
Review

The album was released on 4th October 2010 and reached number three on the Billboard 200. The hit song of the album 'Just The Way You Are' was on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 4 consecutive weeks and in total of 48 weeks. Two other of his hit songs were 'Grenade' and 'The Lazy Song'.
The album's first song is 'Grenade', this song highlights his strong feelings towards a woman he loves. He uses many examples to present his love for this woman such as saying 'I'd jump in front of a train for ya' and 'I would die for you'. This makes you feel emotional and is a great start to the album as you will wonder what the upcoming songs will be about.
The second song 'Just The Way You Are' contrasts with the first as the melody is much more positive and good to listen to. He talks about the perfections of this girl through the catchy chorus. I personally preferred this song to the first one as I felt the tune was catchy and nice to listen to however after listening to a few times my opinion of it has changed slightly as I find it less meaningful compared to the other songs in this album.
Moving on to the 4th track 'Runaway Baby', I quite like this song as it is very upbeat and a song you could easily dance to. It makes you feel happy unlike some of the other songs which might make you feel emotional such as 'Talking To The Moon' as we can understand that he is referring to some sort of regret or loss.
The next song 'The Lazy Song' is completely different as it moves away from the love and relationships and reflects on the feelings of a lot of people -laziness. The beat of the song is quite fun and cheerful which makes it easy to listen to and enjoyable.
Finally the last few songs goes back to the theme of love with 'Marry You', 'Talking To The Moon' and 'Somewhere In Brooklyn'. Meanwhile 'Count On Me' talks about strong friendship and this is one of my favourites of the album as it reminds me to be grateful of the friends around me.
Overall I think this album is full of mixed emotion songs which is suitable for a lot of people with the variety it contains. The many enjoyable songs vary from slow and emotional to happy, fast and upbeat which is why it draws so many people to listen to this album.
